Let's get this outta the way... my thoughts are, the only hike that's better than a hike that starts with a headlamp, is a hike that starts with a headlamp and ends with a headlamp!!! We are very lucky to live this close to the mountains, right? If spending an ENTIRE day in our majestic mountains sharing amazing adventures with like minded people creating new memories to get the best return for our precious remaining life seconds sounds good to you... read on!!!

Dry Island Buffalo Jump: Crazy Dino Adventure Day (OT5/S4 ish)

We are so lucky here in AB that we have access to such diverse ecosystems. Dry Island Buffalo Jump is one that is absolutely amazing. Driving east of Three Hills you'd never think that the sea of farmland you are looking at would ever end, but all of a sudden you come up on this beautiful valley filled with some very unique and interesting terrain. Hoodoos, the Saskatchewan River, there will be larches and fall yellows, if we're lucky we'll find some cool bugs, probably some cactus, animal bones, I can nearly ALWAYS spot dino fossil. There is just a feast of interesting things to see and do here.

AND ... of course there has to be some spice on my trips... mwuhahahahahaaaaaa. If we're really lucky, maybe some bushwhacking, and I'm gonna guarantee 100% you WILL be scrambling. Whoop whoooooop!!!!

There's no stats... you have to reasonably fit, not afraid of heights, and slightly crazy. We'll be hiking on site for 6 hours or so.

Looks like a pretty nice day, as of now 14° for the high... Not too hot, not too cold but juuuuuuust right for a fun day!!!

Cheers,

Michael JC

My hikes typically have off-routing and bushwhacking. If that's not your thing, don't sign up. No whining allowed on the hill!!!
