Volunteer at It's My Park Day - Veloway

Join us at Austin Parks Foundation's big volunteer event - It's My Park Day. Hundreds of volunteers will grab shovels and rakes, and work to improve parks and greenbelts throughout the city. There are dozens of events around Austin - choose one that's near and dear to you - or join up with us - Veloway Park!

It is a very large area with different projects of maintaining gardens, cutting back growing weeds at start finish, clearing drainage, planting, transplanting, weeding, mulching, picking up trash etc. We sincerely need a lot of help!

Always appreciate donations of birdhouses, native plants, agave's, succulents, wind chimes, feeders - Please message the IMPDay Coordinator, Nicole Fisher, in advance of any donations.

Any wheelbarrows, carts, tools like pick axe, shovels, loppers, scissor cutters are important to bring if you can.
Please arrive 9:30 to sign in, receive T-shirt & goodies, take group photo, split into groups. Yes, that's right - FREE SHIRT!
If you are going to be late or if you have donations - just call, text or email Nicole 512-496-6300 so she can get you set up where to go before Saturday since groups will break up and will be out around the track.
Suggestion - Garden gloves/ work gloves, closed toe shoes, suggestion pants, water/ food needs, sun block, friendly enthusiasm :)

Bring bike or skates to enjoy Veloway afterwards...or earlier and be ready for 9:30.

Bring / wear sturdy shoes and clothing, gloves, water bottle, sun protection. APF will have a variety of tools on hand. Children are welcome if supervised by their parents.
