As part of the America 250 celebration, Philadelphia has commissioned artists to decorate 52 giant statues of the number 1, each commemorating an historic 'first' that took place in Philly. Join us on an 8- 10 mile urban hike to visit over half of these colorful statues as we explore numerous neighborhoods along the way. We will meet at Lloyd Hall Recreation Center along Boathouse Row - there is free parking available on Sedgley Drive which intersects Kelly Drive at Boathouse Row. There are also paid lots in the vicinity. Bring along snacks and water for a 4 hour hike - we will stop mid way through the hike for a brief refueling break. Dress in layers for the weather. Steady rain cancels - check status on Meetup by 6:30am the day of the hike or contact leader.
