Search, analytics, knowledge graphs and a growing set of AI features all depend on that data streaming continuously from the source systems. Moving that data means the same engineering work every time: stand up a stream processor, wire the source and sink connectors, handle schema drift, and get scaling, reliability and monitoring right — then do it again for the next destination. Repeat that for every source and every consumer, and integration cost becomes the limiting factor in how much data moves. To change that, we built a shared eventing platform on Apache Kafka and Apache Flink. Producers publish canonical events once; consumers declare a pipeline in configuration, and the platform compiles and runs it. Teams never write or operate a streaming application. This presentation walks through the platform's components, the challenges of supporting multiple destinations from a single source, turning the solution into a reusable platform, and what we've learned from running it. Bios: Supreetha Venkatesha (Software Engineer, Autodesk) Supreetha is a Software Engineer at Autodesk and part of the data streaming and processing platform team. With a strong interest in distributed systems and backend development, she helps build the eventing platform that teams across Autodesk use to move their data, with a focus on making that onboarding self-serve. Seema Kamaraddy (Principal Engineer, Autodesk) Seema Kamaraddy is a Principal Software Engineer at Autodesk, where she has spent the last few years building streaming data infrastructure. She builds and operates the Apache Kafka and Apache Flink pipelines that stream product data to the other Autodesk systems, and has contributed to their migration to Kubernetes and Flink 2.x. Details of the second talk coming soon! \ DISCLAIMER We are unable to cater for any attendees under the age of 18. If you would like to speak or host our next event please let us know!
