Light Night Leeds 2026 – Illuminated City Walk & Street Food

Join us as we explore the magic of Light Night Leeds 2026! Over evening in October, Leeds city centre is completely transformed with massive light projections, interactive art installations, and live performances across iconic indoor and outdoor landmarks.

​We will kick off our evening in the heart of the action at Millennium Square, check out the immersive light displays, grab a bite at the Light Night Street Food Market, and walk through some of the central zones together (such as Briggate and the Station Zone).

​Whether you’re a photographer, art lover, or just want to experience the city at night with friendly company, this is the perfect evening out!

​Dates: Wednesday, 28 October 2026
​Meetup Time: 5:45 PM (Event runs from 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM)

​📍 Meeting Spot
​Location: Outside Leeds Civic Hall / Millennium Square steps (Calverley St, Leeds LS1 1UR)
​How to spot us: I’ll be waiting by the steps wearing a [e.g., bright yellow scarf / holding a Meetup sign]. I'll also post live updates in the event comments.

​🗺️ The Plan
​5:45 PM – 6:00 PM: Meet, greet, and introductions at Millennium Square.
​6:00 PM – 7:30 PM: Explore the Millennium Square Zone installations and grab dinner/snacks from the Street Food Market.
​7:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Group walk through the city to view highlights across the Briggate, Station, and South Bank zones.
​9:00 PM onwards: Optional warm-up drink at a nearby pub/café to chat and share photos!

​💡 Practical Information
​Admission: Free public event! No tickets required.
​What to wear: Comfortable walking shoes and warm, weather-appropriate layers (it can get chilly while walking around).
​Crowds: Central Leeds gets very busy during Light Night, so please try to arrive on time. If you arrive late, message via the Meetup app and we’ll share our live location.

​First-timers: Very welcome! Most attendees come on their own—we’ll make sure you're introduced right away.
