Local Walk: Kinver, Stourton Locks & The Million

Today's winter walk follows a different route variant around Kinver where we have walked regularly in the past, with a good range of scenery.

Logistics
Meet: Check-in 10:00 for prompt start within 5-10 mins, or as soon as all visible are ready.
Distance: Solid distance of 10 miles, which at this time of year means we must leave bang on time.
Start: Large Layby (free parking) in Compton Road near Holy Austin Rocks, DY7 6DL is an approximate postcode)
Terrain: Splendid mixture of forested hillside, canal towpath and open countryside.
Lateness: After 1 mile we pass The Plough & Harrow in Kinver, and after 3 miles we pass Stourton Locks. If you're self-navigating, you should be able to find us.

Refreshments: Picnic stop, and pub stop at 3/4 distance. Also just a small drive to a pub at the end if people wish.
Bring: Waterproofs & Refreshments & Good walking footwear, and clothing to match the weather.
Guests: Under 16s & dogs (behaved, under control) may attend as guests.

Safety
As with any outdoor activity, there is some inherent risk. Whilst we aim to avoid unnecessary risks, participants should take all reasonable precautions themselves. A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety. You must be comfortable walking the specified distance in order to attend please.

RSVP Commitment
Places are limited, so withdrawing in the last 24 hours is not allowed. Attendances shouldn't be compromised by ghosting (no-shows, late withdrawals, uncommitted waitlisting) so reliable attendees will take priority at future events.
