Our inaugural ALBUM CLUB was a success and it was an awesome experience.

Who is ready for a new album? I know I am!

But first - what is Album Club? It's like a book club—but with far less reading and a much better soundtrack.

For each Album Club gathering, we will choose one album in advance. Listen to it before the event, then join us for a relaxed two-hour conversation about everything we loved, disliked, misunderstood, replayed, or immediately wanted to skip.
No music-theory knowledge is required. You do not need to know the artist’s biography, identify obscure instruments, or explain the album’s cultural significance. You only need to listen and arrive with an opinion—or several conflicting opinions.

During the evening, we will discuss:
Best song
Most skippable song
Biggest surprise
Favorite lyric or musical moment
Overall rating
Would you ever listen to it again and did you discover any songs you would actually add to your regular rotation?

We may also tackle important questions such as:

Which song feels like it should have been the single?
Which song are the rest of us completely wrong about?
What emotion does the album do best?
Which track contains the most interesting sound, instrument, production choice, or tiny musical detail?
If you could ask the artist one question about this album, what would it be?

We will begin with general reactions, move through the track list, possibly play a few short excerpts or even a music video of a song from the album, compare favorites and least favorites, and finish by giving the album an official group rating.

Please listen to the standard edition of the album at least once before attending. Headphones, car speakers, kitchen radio, and suspiciously old stereo systems are all acceptable.

WHAT TO BRING:

Bring yourself and a few honest reactions.
Notes are welcome because it may help you recall song specifics, but absolutely not required.
Bring a snack and / or beverage of choice, if desired - not required

You are allowed to love the album.
You are allowed to dislike the album.
You are even allowed to believe that everyone else has selected the wrong best song—as long as we can disagree without being jerks about it.

At the end of the evening, we will choose the person who gets to select the album for our next gathering. So, be there!

Space is limited so that everyone has a chance to participate. Please RSVP only if you genuinely intend to attend, and update your RSVP if your plans change.

Come discover something new, revisit something familiar, and spend an evening having wonderfully unnecessary arguments about music.
