🚐 Doors Open Niagara-on-the-Lake Road Trip! Saturday, October 17 Let’s hit the road for another Doors Open adventure! We’ll be heading to beautiful Doors Open Niagara-on-the-Lake to explore historic buildings, cultural sites, and hidden spaces that are rarely open to the public. Nick has been a Doors Open Toronto volunteer for over two decades, and he always enjoys checking out Doors Open events in other cities. Niagara-on-the-Lake is known for its incredible heritage architecture, charming streets, and fascinating history—making it a perfect destination for a Doors Open day trip. 🏛️ What is Doors Open? If you’ve never attended before, Doors Open is a free architectural and cultural event held in communities across Ontario. For one special weekend, cities open the doors to historic buildings, cultural institutions, churches, theatres, and other interesting spaces—many of which are normally closed to the public. Visitors can explore at their own pace, learn about local history, and sometimes go behind the scenes with guided tours or special access. Learn more about the event here: 👉 https://www.doorsopenontario.on.ca/pages/events/niagara-on-the-lake 🗓️ The Plan Departure: 8:00 AM from just outside Christie Station Transportation: Rental minivan Destination: Niagara-on-the-Lake Spend the day exploring Doors Open sites around town Time permitting we may be able to visit Niagara Falls after for a few photos/sightseeing Return to Toronto: Around 6:00 PM, depending on traffic You’re welcome to explore with the group or wander off to check out sites that interest you most. The day will be relaxed and flexible. 🍽️ Food & Drink You are responsible for your own food and drink purchases throughout the day. 💰 Cost $60 round-trip This covers: Car rental Insurance Fuel To secure your spot, all participants must e-transfer $60 to: 📧 [email protected] Spots are limited based on vehicle capacity, so please RSVP only if you’re able to commit. 🌦️ Weather Note This event runs rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
