Wednesday, October 21, 2026 (Third Wednesday of the month as always)
6:30 p.m. at Schlafly Bottleworks
Join us for this month’s Theology at the Bottleworks where we will discuss: “Something Wicked This Way Comes: The Problem of Badness.” Badness seems pervasive these days; wherever you go, wherever you are, something bad has happened, is happening or will happen. Yet, we live in one of the mostly highly educated, developed, law-saturated and economically prosperous societies ever. Where does “badness” come from, why does it permeate so many corners of our life? And just what is badness anyway, and how is it determined? What cultural, cosmic, or biological factors lead to so much badness? Do you have any hope for more good, pervasive good, good winning over evil? Why? What’s the path to better? We’ll bounce about moral, ethical, philosophical and spiritual approaches to all of the above, so come have a brew, give your view, and lend an ear to others’.
