This group hike is open and welcoming to newcomers.

About the hike:
We'll hike a 3 mile loop at Walnut Creek Metro Park. Fairly easy hike along mostly flat terrain. We'll cross the creek twice by walking along rocks, but your feet could get wet. This trail is shared with mountain bikers and folks walking their dogs off leash (so bring your well behaved pup if you'd like!). We will be doing a custom trail that is a combination of Tangle of Trails, Mark's Art and the east side trail along the creek. Because this is a custom trail you will have to follow Stephanie on AllTrails to view the route.

Parking:
Lots of free parking in the lots near the trailhead.

Restrooms:
There are no restrooms right near the trail head but their are porta-potties in some of the parking areas and baseball park restrooms may be open depending on events.

Optional post-hike social time:
We typically plan an optional social activity (usually involving food!) after the hike. Join us after at the new Hold Out Bar and Grill (previously Turnstile) ~8min down the road.

About Her Adventure:
Her Adventure was started by Bobbie and Katy--two friends who have enjoyed spending time hiking and backpacking. They noticed that when we are in the backcountry, they didn't see a whole lot of other women--probably due to a lot of factors (historical lack of representation, marketing, fear drilled into us by friends/family that the woods aren't safe, bro culture, etc). So they started Her Adventure with the goal of helping folks see themselves as hikers, adventurers, and strong ass humans who can haul their bodies up and over mountains. We're here to help cultivate the journey and sense of community.
