A Journey Through the Five Senses: Chinese Tea Ceremony

A Journey Through the Five Senses
Chinese Tea Tasting Ceremony

茶 · 音 · 禅
Tea · Sound · Zen

\Date:\ Saturday, Nov. 14th, 11:00 am to 12:30pm (1.5 hours)

\Space:\ In the peaceful Zhen Terapies’s meditation room

Living in our fast-paced world we are always rushing, always multitasking. It can feel impossible to truly slow down and enjoy the now.

However, the tea ceremony is a space that cannot be rushed. Instead, we intentionally take a moment, step back from the madness of our shared reality, and savor what the tea has to offer. It is teleporting us to a time and place where your concerns are fewer and burdens lighter.

We will experience tea through the five senses:
🍃 Sight — the leaves, the colours, the way tea catches the light.
🌸 Smell — the aroma before and after the leaves meet the water.
🫖 Touch — the warmth of the cup resting in your hands.
🍵 Taste — artisanal Chinese teas, slowly savoured.
🎶 Sound — a sonic journey through ancient Chinese poetry, music and vocal improvisation.

The Chinese tea ceremony has its roots in antiquity and dates back 14 centuries to the Tang Dynasty. Over the past millennium, the ceremony has been a way to appreciate the beauty of tea, from how it catches the light, to its intoxicating aromas and rich flavors.

The experience will be guided by Chen Yin 陳吟 (Violeta), born and raised in Fujian, China, in a family deeply rooted in Chinese traditional culture, with generous support of Zhen Terapies.
