Taipei grand hike section 2

Trail

Level: Most difficult of all Taipei Grand Hike sections. Steep rope sections (muddy and slippery after rained), endless steep stairs. Gloves are recommended!
Distance: 12K, 5.5 hours
Ascent/Decent: 702m/722m
Highlights: Great open views of Taipei, grassland and possible sea of clouds.

09:40 Meet at MRT Jiantan (劍潭) Exit 1
Take Bus red 5 to 陽明山公車總站
陽明山公車總站: Take 108 to 二子坪
11:40 二子坪 Start hiking
12:20 大屯山西峰
13:15 大屯山南峰
14:10 大屯山觀景台
14:35 大屯山助航站
17:10 小油坑 (17:30 Last bus 108 departs from Yangmingshan terminal)

What to bring / prepare

Lunch and snacks
2-3L of water
Easy card
Cash to split the bill like dinner or taxis
Gloves / umbrella / raincoat / sunscreen / mosquito repellent / power bank / headlamp

Notes:

1. The winding mountain roads of Yangmingshan might make you carsick, so please prepare appropriate motion sickness medication.
2. Make sure you have the offline map if you want to go faster or leave earlier, the organizer is not responsible for your private schedule.
3. Turn around then run as fast as you can if hornets attack. DO NOT SWAT at any hornets around you!!
4. Plan/Event may be changed/canceled/postponed for unforeseeable circumstances.
