Join us for a special presentation with the Idaho State Police (ISP) K9 Unit!
ISP currently deploys nine K-9 teams statewide—seven for drug detection and two for explosives detection. These skilled working dogs collaborate with troopers and local partner agencies across Idaho to locate illegal substances and keep our communities safe.
We are excited to welcome Idaho State Police Sergeant Chris Cottrell and his K9 partner, MURPHY, to Kleiner Park!
Sergeant Cottrell will share an inside look at:
How working dogs are selected for police work
Training concepts and Idaho’s statewide standards
The K9 certification process
What daily life is like for these incredible dogs
Following the discussion, MURPHY will show off his skills with a live detection demonstration!
Come learn about the vital work these dogs do, ask questions, and see MURPHY in action!
Location & Parking: We’ll gather at the Kleiner Park East Shelter, located near the Senior Center (please refer to the photo and parking details provided).
