Come and Write in the Shadow of the Inklings!

Sunday mornings 10.30am–1pm. (Please don't arrive before 10.30 when doors open - that way the pub staff have time to set up for the morning).
Sessions are ‘Pay-what-you-can’ to Kate to keep the sessions viable (see below). There is free tea and coffee and cake (while cake lasts!) Order before 11am. Please bring your own mug! And a pre-loved book for the book swap shelves is always welcome.

[The sessions fills up quickly so arrive when the doors open at 10.30 to grab your place.]

The Lamb and Flag, Oxford provides a welcome and cozy, mentored co-writing space in which to come and write in community, in the shadows of many great writers who have sat and had a pint and a chat there through the centuries.

Every Sunday, writers (of any genres, forms and level) are invited to come at 10:30am for a warm welcome a coffee, a check in and a chat, before we respond to a brief (optional) prompt at 10:45 to get us in flow, then we start writing our own projects together for two hours at 11am. (There are some printed prompts on the writers' notice board for people who would like inspiration.)

Join our WhatsApp broadcast list to hear if the pub has to close/event is cancelled last minute - and to be the first to know about other local writer events. Whatsapp Broadcast list here.

Sessions are run on a ‘Pay-what-you-can’ option to Kate to keep the sessions viable. And the money goes towards printing, preparing prompts, organising events and supporting Kate's time running the community project.
There will be free tea and coffee and cake - order before 11am.

There are QR codes on the tables to make a payment, or you can pay in cash. The recommended rates are:
