Realistic vs. real - the battle for trust in visual media AI-generated images are now indistinguishable from real photos, and they're fueling misinformation at scale. How do you prove a photo is real? How do you spot one that isn't? Sagar Panday will walk through the technologies being developed to fight manipulated images and disinformation, from cryptographic signing and content credentials to AI detection and forensic watermarking. He'll demo how these tools work in practice and where they fall short. Sagar builds content provenance infrastructure at Okeanos B.V. in Almere and works directly with the standards and regulations shaping this space in Europe.
