Join us for an enjoyable 8.5 mile circular walk through some of the beautiful countryside around Aldermaston, Beenham and Bradfield Southend.
Starting from Aldermaston Station, we’ll head up through Beenham, making our way through Shrub Wood before continuing towards Bradfield Southend, via Cock Lane and Tutts Clump.

From there, we’ll descend through Peartree Copse, passing Lambden Woods before picking up a short stretch of the Bath Road.
This is a varied walk with plenty to enjoy along the way, from quiet woodland tracks and country lanes to open countryside, pretty villages and the tranquil waters of the Kennet & Avon Canal.

There should be plenty of opportunities to pause, take in the views and enjoy the changing scenery as we make our way through the Berkshire countryside. We will find a suitable location along the walk for a spot of lunch - so remember to bring your packed lunch!

We’ll then join the Kennet & Avon Canal at Ufton Lock and follow the towpath back towards Aldermaston, enjoying the peaceful canal-side scenery as we make our way towards the finish.

At the end of the walk, there will be the option to stop for a well-earned drink or bite to eat at the canal-side café in Aldermaston. From there, it’s only a short walk back to Aldermaston Station.

A lovely mix of woodland, countryside, villages and canal towpath — three villages, one great walk!
