Hi Sweeps. Join Randy for a fun 4 mile (~600ft elevation gain) Columbus Day hike at Fernandez Ranch. The hike includes a couple of steepish hills, which we will take on slowly. This well-maintained, preserved land, between Martinez and Hercules/Pinole Valley, is gorgeous with sweeping views of the Bay Area and surrounding hills. The historic 700+ acre property of Bernardo and Carlotta Fernandez is what remains of their 7000-acre ranch. It was preserved by John Muir Land Trust and opened to the public in 2010. Parking is free and there are restrooms near the parking area. Friendly dogs are welcome on leash. Meeting place: Fernandez Ranch https://maps.app.goo.gl/uFEuS1N1dZ9KsoNL7 Use this link to setup or join a carpool: https://groupcarpool.com/t/p8ney5 We will hike at an average to slower pace (25-30 mins per mile) so we can enjoy the experience while we get the heart pumping.
