We've chosen our next book — and this one is something different.
The Alchemist follows Santiago, a young Andalusian shepherd who abandons everything familiar to follow a dream across the desert toward a treasure he isn't even sure exists. It's a short, fable-like novel about listening to what your life is trying to tell you — and what it costs to actually do it.
Fair warning: this book divides people. Some find it quietly life-changing. Others find it too simple. Either way, the conversation tends to be anything but simple — and that's exactly the point.
