Bonanza Overlook via the Forest Road 204B at the Lee Canyon

This is a new hike to which I’m not exactly sure of the distance and elevation gain, though it’s probably around 5mi with close to 1000ft of elevation gain, with a tough part off the Forest Rd 204B to the Bonanza Trail that makes for a good workout. There’s an interesting viewpoint we can visit near the Bonanza Trail main break area at the old Bristlecone trail junction that offers a great view of McFarland Peak (featured hike photo) and of the desert near Pahrump off in the distance. Hopefully, the foliage viewing of the Aspens along the trail will be near peak autumn colors. The hike also includes a Bristlecone graveyard and an interesting side view of Mt Charleston at the nearby Old Bristlecone Trail we can visit if anyone is interested. The pace for most of the hikes I host is approximately 30min a mile, with water breaks along the way to allow everybody to catch up if necessary. Dogs and kids are welcome to attend provided they’re strong hikers, well behaved, and their owner cleans up after them. Lastly, please refrain from signing up for a hike described as tough unless your level of conditioning is suitable to complete the hike without great difficulties.
