​Barbarella has built a legendary reputation over the years as one of San Diego’s absolute best spots for seasonal celebrations. Every October, the restaurant goes completely "bats" for Halloween, transforming every square inch of the space into an immersive haunted wonderland draped in elaborate skeletons, massive spiders, creative props, and eerie lighting. Paired with their famous themed food and drink menus, it’s an iconic local tradition that captures the ultimate spooky season spirit.

​Costume Request
​In honor of the restaurant's incredible Halloween spirit, we are requesting that all diners come dressed in some form of costume! Whether you want to go all-out with a full disguise, keep it clever with a pop-culture reference, or simply wear a subtle spooky accessory (like a witch hat or vampire cape), let's fill the dining room with festive flair.

​Parking Recommendations
Avenida de la Playa and the surrounding La Jolla Shores neiborhood can get quite lively, so plan your arrival accordingly:

​Street Parking: Free street and residential parking are available along El Paseo Grande and nearby residential blocks. Be sure to check street signs carefully for time limits or restricted zones.

​Kellogg Park / Beach Parking Lots: Public Lots near La Jolla Shores Beach offer free parking, though they fill up quickly on weekends and evenings.

​Rideshare: If you want to skip the hassle of hunting for a spot altogether, take an Uber or Lyft straight to the restaurant doors is a great, stress-free alternative.
