Literary Fiction Book Club & Exchange: The Correspondent by Virginia Evans

Our first book is The Correspondent by Virginia Evans.

Please bring a used hardcover LITERARY FICTION book(s) to add to our book exchange library. It can be something you picked up at Goodwill for $2 but please make it one that you read and enjoyed and want to share and exchange for someone else's choice.

PLEASE NOTE: I love books and I love to meet with friends and talk about books. I hold these meetings in my home and make every effort to make each of my book loving friends feel welcome and accepted regardless of their points of view or personal discussion style.

As I am both host and moderator, please allow ME to determine the format and to moderate the discussion which will be conducted with respect and grace with no harsh language or criticism of another's viewpoint or conduct.

People get passionate about books and a free, open exchange of ideas is my goal. This isn’t structured — don’t think classroom — think the salons of Tolstoy or drawing rooms of Oscar Wilde. Picture afternoons where wit and disagreement were the whole point of the night. No one waited for a turn; the talk flowed, looped back, spilled over itself — and the host made sure every voice found its way in and let the ideas run where they wanted.

If a structured, take-turns format is what you’re after, that’s a lovely thing in its own right — just not what I’m hosting here.

I will provide appetizers, herbal tea and wine. Please feel free to bring an appetizer or beverage of your choice to share.
