November Fantasy Book Club: "Howl's Moving Castle" Diana Jones

\\Note\ NON-TYPICAL DATE, MOVED FOR THANKSGIVING
Location Riverview Library St. Paul, we start at 6!

Any and all are welcome at our bi-monthly HumanistsMN Fantasy Book Club! Join us the last THURSDAY of every odd month. Come discuss the book of the month with us -- or listen in and contribute to our frequent meanderings about pop-culture and other passions.

Our book for September is "Howl's Moving Castle" Diana Jones

“Sophie has the great misfortune of being the eldest of three daughters, destined to fail miserably should she ever leave home to seek her fate. But when she unwittingly attracts the ire of the Witch of the Waste, Sophie finds herself under a horrid spell that transforms her into an old lady. Her only chance at breaking it lies in the ever-moving castle in the hills: the Wizard Howl's castle. To untangle the enchantment, Sophie must handle the heartless Howl, strike a bargain with a fire demon, and meet the Witch of the Waste head-on. Along the way, she discovers that there's far more to Howl—and herself—than first meets the eye.”

Our book club facilitator is Cory Brodeur, HumanistsMN member, who enjoys getting lost in fantasy books, nerdy pop culture discussions, and cats. Cory's goal is to bring people together to bond over fantasy worlds while discussing how we can make positive changes in the real world!

This event is sponsored by HumanistsMN. We are a secular non-profit organization with the goal of bettering our community, connecting with others, promoting educational opportunities, and defending basic human rights.
