Photo Jam Berlin 03 — Diptychs Photowalk

I planned a diptychs walk as the first Photo Jam meeting in Berlin, but I had to cancel it because only two people signed up. I still like the idea, so let’s try it again.

Photo Jam is a photography community built around creative exercises, being active with photography, and meeting new people. I previously organized a large photography community in Vienna, and now I’m continuing it here in Berlin.

For this walk, the exercise is to create diptychs: pairs of photographs that have some relationship between them. They can work through contrast, repetition, colour, shape, or simply tell a small visual story together. I think it is an interesting way to look at the city, because instead of searching only for one strong picture, you start noticing how different things can connect.

You don’t need special equipment or previous experience. Bring whichever camera you enjoy using, including your phone.

We’ll meet outside REWE at Kottbusser Tor and walk together for approximately two hours. The route will stay a little spontaneous, depending on what we notice on the way. Afterwards, anyone who feels like staying can join us for a beer or another drink nearby.

The event is free and donation-based. If you enjoy the walk and would like to support the time and work that go into organizing Photo Jam, you’re welcome to contribute a few euros, but there is no obligation.
