Come see Persepolis on Monday, the 23rd at The Brattle Theater. Depending on interest afterwards, we may duck in for a late night snack and/or drinks at the Longfellow (downstairs).
Description: Persepolis is a critically acclaimed, autobiographical animated feature film based the graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi that chronicles her coming-of-age in Tehran during and after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Written in stark, black-and-white comic strips, the memoir explores the profound contradictions between private and public life under a repressive fundamentalist regime, the human cost of the Iran-Iraq War, and the painful isolation of exile.
Persepolis will be presented in French with English subtitles.
