Please join us on Friday morning for a hike through the woodlands and prairies, and around lakes and ponds of Hyland Lake Park Reserve in Bloomington. The route will be on paved, grass and wood chip trails. The trail may be muddy in spots after a rain, but has very few rocks or roots.

Option 1 is a moderately paced hike of 5.5 to 6 miles, with an early out at 4.5 miles, at a pace of 17 to 18 minute miles (could be faster or slower depending on the will of the hikers).

Option 2 is a fast paced hike of approximately 7 miles in length at an average pace of 15 to 16 minute miles. This option includes an opportunity to go down and back up a ski hill! This is NOT the option for beginner hikers. It is a fast-paced hike with plenty of hills for those who hike regularly.

Hikers will choose their option when they arrive. An early exit will be available in both options for those who wish to hike fewer miles.

We will hike in light rain, but not a thunderstorm. If it looks like bad weather, we will cancel the hike by 7:00 a.m.

We will meet outside the Visitor Center at 8:25 and get going by 8:33. Please be on time! We will not wait for latecomers. The restrooms are open and a cold water fountain is available to fill your water bottle both before and after the hike.

No dogs, plus ones, or kids.

If your plans have changed and you are unable to attend, please update your RSVP in a timely manner so we are not waiting for you at the start and to allow those on the waitlist to attend.

Questions? Send one of the hosts a message or post your questions in the comments section after you RSVP.
