Singles Trivia @ White Owl

Join us and get to know some fellow single folks through your random knowledge of movies, food, science, sports, books, history and music! What to expect at trivia: This is Untapped Trivia, which is on paper and typically has some cool rounds with pictures or audio. We'll most likely be on the outdoor patio, which is covered and has some heaters in the winter and fans in the summer. I'd suggest bringing/wearing layers. We'll meet at 6:15 to try to snag some good tables next to each other, and so we can chat and get some drinks/food. The picnic table you sit at will become your trivia team. Teams can be up to 7 people. Trivia starts promptly at 7 pm (but do please show up closer to 6:15 if you can) and goes til 9. Our group is not hardcore about trivia. We're focused on having fun and getting to know each other. Don't worry about getting an answer wrong or not knowing any. Look for the tables with red candles and/or little "30s/40s Meetup" signs on them - that's where people from our Meetup group will be and sit. The rest of the folks in White Owl will be general members of the public. When you arrive, cross your name off the sign-in sheet and (if you want to... and if I remember to bring them) grab a conversation starter sticker that will say something like "I really love " for you to fill in. What to expect now on Meetup: The first 25 people to RSVP will go straight to the 'going' list, and after that everyone will go on a waitlist. I'll move some people over from the waitlist, with a priority going to people who will help balance the gender ratio, haven't no-showed before, are fun/friendly regulars, etc. I know it's a bummer if you get stuck on the waitlist, but please only show up to play trivia with the group if you're on the 'going' list. As organizers, we're trying our best to make the event enjoyable for everyone in attendance, and we use the waitlist to help keep the size of an event manageable, keep the gender ratio more balanced, make sure everyone has a place to sit, etc. Housekeeping: As always, let's make sure to be respectful to everyone and support the venue (please plan to order a few food/drink items). Please keep your RSVP up to date and check in with Kristina or cross your name off the sign-in sheet when you arrive so you don't get marked as a no-show. We regularly remove people with 2+ no-shows from the group. Make sure to follow the Community Rules in this group's About section. If anyone violates these rules or makes you feel uncomfortable, please let the event host (like Kristina) know or reach out to another group organizer (like Brenda, Dan, Shawn, Stephanie, Cat, Caitlin, or Chris). Reminder: Meetup hosts/organizers are volunteers who dedicate their time, planning skills, emotional labor, and a little money (pens, nametags, glow sticks, etc.) to make these events possible... and we can't control everything.
