HCC to Daniels area

This hike starts at the Howard County Conservancy then follows the south side of the Patuxent River for an elongated loop. At the start, we will go by the resident Barred Owl’s enclosure, after a brief visit we will use the Tulip Poplar Trail to exit the Conservancy grounds. The hike takes us across meadows, along railroad tracks, a little bushwhacking, but mostly along pleasant trails - a bit of hiking sampler platter. The hike will be 7.5 - 8 miles with 925 feet of elevation gain. There are easy water crossings, we will average around 2.5 mph. After the initial sign-ups, attendees will be admitted based on their track record for attendance.
