Itinerary

Start outside the Aysgarth Falls National Park Centre (there is a souvenir shop and cafe here). There are three parts to Aysgarth Falls - High Force, Middle Force, Low Force. We will start by following the Herriot Way through Freeholders Wood and St Joseph's Wood past the Middle Force and Low Force part of the falls.

We continue up through farmland and leave the Herriot Way taking a more direct route up to the village of Castle Bolton where we will wander around the outside of the castle.

We then wander through the village and take a different route back to Herriot Way where we follow it almost back to where we left it earlier. We bare off down to the river where there are stepping stones we will use to get across.

We cut cross country to the hamlet of West Burton where Cauldron Falls is. Ending with a short walk back to Aysgarth Falls, where we'll cross a bridge with views up river to High Force. We can go to the viewpoint before heading back to the car park. If anyone is up for it, we can take a short drive to Aysgarth and go to the Aysgarth Falls Hotel for a drink and chat before heading home.
