Join Miles in Motion for the second journey of our Chicago Outerbelt adventure. This northbound segment follows the Des Plaines River corridor from Fullerton Woods to Catherine Chevalier Woods. A short portion of the usual trail is affected by construction. Our planned Komoot route includes a bypass around the impacted area. The bypass is part of the adventure, but everyone must follow posted closures and the final event instructions. The route and distance may change slightly if conditions require an adjustment. Schedule · 7:30 AM: Check in and introductions · 7:45 AM: Route, logistics, and safety briefing · 8:00 AM: Departure sharp · Approximately 10:45 to 11:00 AM: Estimated finish · Return transportation begins after the entire group finishes Meeting Location Fullerton Woods parking area Start coordinates: 41.922650, -87.836326 Please arrive by 7:30 AM with enough time to park and prepare. We will depart at 8:00 AM sharp. Transportation Plan Participants will park at Fullerton Woods and meet there for check in. My vehicle will be waiting at Catherine Chevalier Woods. After the walk, I will drive the five participants back to Fullerton Woods. The return ride will leave after the entire group completes the segment. Anyone who leaves early is responsible for arranging personal transportation. Rideshare availability may be slow or limited along portions of the route. What to Bring Water Bug spray Supportive walking or hiking shoes Weather-appropriate clothing A fully charged phone Any personal nutrition or medication you may need Trail conditions may include uneven surfaces, mud, wet areas, street crossings, and temporary route changes. This is a voluntary community walk. I am the organizer and a fellow participant, not a professional guide. Everyone will receive the same route information and coordinates. Each participant is responsible for assessing personal fitness, monitoring personal safety, bringing appropriate equipment, following posted rules and closures, and arranging transportation if leaving before the group finishes. The event is limited to six people, including me. A waitlist will be available if the event fills. See you on the trail! Nicole G
