Join us on Tuesday, October 27th at 2:15 for the 2:35 p.m. screening of La Bola Negra at the Paris Theater at 4 West 58th Street and Fifth Avenue (next to Bergdorf Goodman and across from the Plaza Hotel). We will meet in the lobby of the Paris Theater.
This sweeping gay historical drama follows three generations of men in Spain, connecting their lives through love, desire and the lasting effects of repression. Directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, the film features Penélope Cruz and Glenn Close.
It will be available later on Netflix, but this looks like the sort of film worth seeing on the big screen—especially at the Paris, where it is being shown in 35mm.
The film is in Spanish with English subtitles and runs 2 hours and 39 minutes. Afterward, we’ll head to Land of Plenty, 204 East 58th Street, for an early Chinese dinner and a chance to discuss the movie.
When I last checked, plenty of seats were available, but this film has been selling out. Purchase your own ticket here:
