For only $22, you, too, can paint and own your very own MANDARIN FROG. Let's spend a few hours in beautiful Walter Jones Park and paint some concrete frogs and turtles. They are great lawn decorations.

Reserve your spot here on Meetup and pay when you arrive.

Mandarin Frogs are a beloved local phenomenon that began with lifelong Mandarin resident Don Bowden, known affectionately as "Frog Man." In 2015, Bowden began making the frogs to benefit the Mandarin Museum & Historical Society, and they became so popular that he has since created and sold more than 10,000 of them, raising over $150,000 for the museum.

You see them all over Mandarin as they've been a sort of local mascot. If you've been to my house, you've seen the one on my mailbox I use as a landmark.
