We invite you to celebrate the arrival of 2027 with our friendly company, enjoying healthy, homemade meals and an active day in the stunning Snowdonia, burning off the festive-season calories.

This trip is a great opportunity to catch up with your hiking friends you have met with us this year and in previous years, or to make new ones if you haven't been with us yet :).
This ever-popular event has always been a joyful experience. Do not miss out!

HIGHLIGHTS

Hike around Beddgelert, undoubtedly the loveliest village in the area.
Llanberis village is a great location for local walks and pubs
Woodland hike via Beddgelert Forest and the old slate mines, and a derelict village.
If the weather allows, we may hike up Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales and England.
An all-inclusive, fully catered trip with homemade healthy meals.
Experienced AAA event organisers are on hand throughout to advise you on your choice of hike based on the selection offered.

AAA has been running Hiking Weekend events for over 17 years. With all that experience behind us, you can look forward to well-led hikes guided by knowledgeable leaders and delicious, healthy home-cooked food.

HIKE GRADES
You will have a choice of hikes, ranging from Moderate to Energetic.
When we have three or more leaders available, we also offer a Challenging option. Our leaders are experienced in navigation and group leading, and all are trained in wilderness first aid.
Hikes vary in length: shorter options are around 15 km, while longer, more demanding ones go up to 25 km+. We'll tailor the routes to the weather on the day and confirm choices accordingly.

SIGHTSEEING
You can do your own sightseeing if you are not into walking. There are famous Welsh Castles, close by and Portmeirion - a folly tourist village.

IMPORTANT: This trip is designed for a range of hiking abilities from Novice to experienced. Select your hikes accordingly.

ITINERARY
The weekend starts at the accommodation at 6:00 pm on Thursday and finishes after a half-day hike on Sunday, usually wrapping up around 1:00 pm.
There will be a New Year's Eve Party with music and a midnight buffet with a glass of bubbly.

ACCOMMODATION
AAA has exclusive use of YHA Snowdon Llanberis for 3 nights. It's well-positioned in Llanberis, 10 min walk from the High Street, making it a convenient base for hiking Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), exploring the village, and visiting nearby attractions.
Wi-Fi is available on this property, there is a game room, and all bed linen is provided.
Rooms are single-sex, mostly sleeping 4 or 6 people. Contact [email protected] to enquire about the availability of a single room - £149 extra (SOLD OUT); twin rooms - £199 extra, well in advance (only 1 LEFT)

FOOD
All meals are included and prepared fresh on site—our famous AAA home cooking! We always offer vegan and vegetarian options.
Feel free to bring your own alcoholic drinks and snacks. There's no need to budget for eating out; everything is covered—no restaurant trips or pub meals required.

TRANSPORT
Driving is the best option to reach the Hostel. Please check out this Event Message Board to request and offer a lift.

The price includes:

3 Nights accommodation
Thursday light supper

Choices of 2-3 Guided Hikes by experienced hike leaders
