Join us for a beautiful walking weekend in Egmond aan Zee, exploring the North Sea coast and the stunning dunes of the Noordhollands Duinreservaat! 🌾🌊
The Hotel in Egmond Wandel Marathon is a popular winter walking event that combines beautiful coastal scenery, sandy paths and a wonderful atmosphere for walkers.

I have registered for the 21.1 km route on both Saturday and Sunday, but you are welcome to choose whichever distance and day(s) suit you best.

I plan to start at 08:00 on both days. If you prefer a later start, that's absolutely fine — you can start anytime within the official starting window, up to 11:00.

Available distances include:

🥾 10.5 km
You can participate on Saturday, Sunday, or both days.
I will be walking 21.1 km on both days, but please choose the distance that best matches your own fitness level and preferences.

🌊 Saturday — Southern Route

The Saturday route heads south along the North Sea beach, before continuing through the dunes and the Noordhollands Duinreservaat towards Egmond aan Zee.
The route offers a beautiful combination of beach, dunes and nature. 🌊🌾

🌾 Sunday — Northern Route

On Sunday, the route heads north along the North Sea beach, before entering the dunes and continuing through the Noordhollands Duinreservaat.
The route offers a different perspective of the beautiful Dutch coastal landscape.
If you join both days, you can therefore experience two different routes through the Egmond coastal area. ✨

🌿 What to Expect

This is more than an ordinary walking event!
Along the routes, you can enjoy:
🌊 Walking along the North Sea beach
🌾 Beautiful dune landscapes
🥾 Sandy and sometimes challenging terrain
🌲 The Noordhollands Duinreservaat
🏘️ Coastal scenery around Egmond and the surrounding area

Please be prepared for loose sand, changing weather conditions and some uneven or undulating terrain. Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. 🥾

👥 Walking Together

I will be doing 21.1 km on both Saturday and Sunday, starting at 08:00.
However, there is absolutely no need to choose the same distance or starting time.
Please select the distance and day(s) that best match your own fitness level, interests and schedule.
Depending on our chosen distances and walking pace, we may be able to walk together for part or all of the route.

You must register for the Hotel in Egmond Wandel Marathon separately before signing up for this Meetup.
Please arrange your registration in advance and make sure you have secured your participation before joining this Meetup.
Please only sign up for this Meetup after you have secured your event registration.

👟 Practical Information

Please wear comfortable walking shoes suitable for sand, dunes and potentially wet or muddy conditions.
The finish is at Sporthal De Watertoren in Egmond aan Zee, and participants should complete their walk within the official event schedule.
Transportation to and from Egmond is not arranged by the Meetup organizer. Please make your own transportation arrangements.

I'll be taking on the 21.1 km challenge on both Saturday and Sunday, starting at 08:00 each morning.
Two different routes, two days of beautiful coastal scenery, fresh winter air and hopefully plenty of good walking company! 🌊🥾✨
