Harriman: Poor Man's Elk Pen Hike - 6+ Miles

A moderate-to-strenuous 5+ mile hike with an elevation gain of about 1,300 feet through dramatic terrain typical of the Harriman State Park system. We will follow Arden-Surebridge and Appalachian trails, and will squeak through the infamous "Lemon Squeezer". A bypass option is available if you are not really into squeezed lemons.

Bring plenty of water and snacks, and appropriate seasonal items (sun- and insect-protection in summer, and crampons in winter). Day-of-hike-only phone: 973-704-7362.

\Note\ We hike at a moderate pace, and never leave anyone behind. Our hikes are not suitable for fast hikers who like to forge ahead of the group.
