Describing his Talk: Geek Lessons from the Distant Past
Before Geekdom, before Rackspace, there was Datapoint Corporation. 8,900 employees at its peak, there's a strong case that the first PC and first local area network was invented at Datapoint, here in San Antonio. We KNOW the Intel processor instruction set emerged from the Datapoint 2200, "the world's first personal computer." We talked to the Datapoint veterans who created the Datapoint 2200, and who used the processor that became the Intel 8008. Hear their stories and lessons!
About him:
Cliff Zintgraff is a former software engineer who interned at Datapoint, grew up at Image Data Corporation, led services at SecureLogix, and today is the CEO of SAMSAT, the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology. He's in the business of sharing the promise and lessons of technology with children, youth and adults, for the benefit of our city and those we serve.

What to Expect Each Month:
Co-working + Body Doubling:
Bring your laptop, your to-do list, and any side projects you want to get feedback on! Work solo or alongside other Geeks who are building, shipping, and learning.
Workshops/Discussions
Our midday slot is dynamic. Whether we are hosting a guest speaker, running a workshop, or just opening the floor for a community discussion, this is your time to connect.
The Food Status: Bring your own lunch! (Though we’ll occasionally sponsor the spread for special announcements or workshops—we'll always let you know in advance!).
Open Source Socials (Optional)
Each month will vary, but generally we encourage anyone (who still has a social battery left) to go on a walk, grab coffee or drinks, or hang out at Location with fellow attendees and continue the conversation.
