I talk about my experience with four years of chronic low back pain (now recovered). We'll discuss what I've learned, the current medical literature on non-specific low back pain, common postural causes of pain, treatment modalities and exercise strategies, and book recommendations. 80-percent of Americans will experience back pain at some point, so even if you are young and do not experience pain, it's a good thing to know how to prevent.
This is not an exercise class, but we will go over common hip, core, and back exercises you may wish to participate in.
To bring:
- Yoga Mat (optional\, but highly recommended if you want to participate in the exercises)
- Water bottle
- Comfortable workout clothes
- Your mind
We will meet in the large meeting room in the Germantown Library.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor or a PT. None of this is medical advice. If you have an injury that warrants medical attention, see a doctor before participating. Any exercise you do at your own risk.
