Because being strong was never meant to mean carrying it all alone.

ABOUT THIS EVENT
Have you ever felt you had to be strong, even when you were falling apart inside?
Kept going when you were exhausted. Said "I'm fine" when you weren't. Carried everyone's expectations without asking who was carrying yours. Stayed quiet about your struggles because men are supposed to handle it.
If you have, you're not alone. And this session is for you.
In celebration of International Men's Day, Real People Real Stories returns with an episode told through men's eyes. Justin Teh and Kong Wai will share honestly what life looked like when they lived by society's script for being a man, and what changed when they chose to write their own.
This is not a story about men who have it all figured out. It's about two ordinary guys who chose to stop proving, stop pretending, and finally meet the man underneath.

THE SPEAKERS & THEIR STORIES
For a long time, both men were living up to a picture of manhood that never quite fit.
Justin Teh, lived with anxiety and a constant fear of what others thought. He couldn't accept his own struggles, because a man is supposed to be strong. Today he has found his voice and his playful side again. He even started teaching his mother to say "I Love You".
Kong Wai, grew up as the eldest son, believing it was his job to carry the family. He chased success to prove himself, until life brought him to his knees. There he learnt that we are human, and that admitting weakness is where real strength begins.
Two journeys, one discovery: being a man isn't about being who everyone expects. It's about being who you choose to be.

Why Spend Your Saturday Here
Hear two real men talk openly about the pressure to be strong and "together", and what their lives became once they stopped performing. Walk away with a new way of seeing strength: owning your responsibilities without being so hard on yourself.

Who Should Attend?
