Healthy Friends Potluck: Citrus Heights

Please join me at the Sylvan Oaks Library in Citrus Heights for a community potluck. Our previous location is being renovated. This room is a little bigger so we have room for your friends who want to improve their health! Anyone looking for ways they can treat their diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney disease, cancer, heart disease, or autoimmune disease is welcome!

Best way to support this effort? Bring lots of healthy food!

Focus: People want to know what you eat, how you prepare it, and how you navigate the Whole Food Healthy Plant Based Life! Please come ready to share your testimony! Answer questions that newcomers have. If you are a newcomer, no questions are off limits, let us know what you are curious about! Most of all we want to build friendships in our community that support all of us living a healthy and happy life. Learn about the power of a whole food plant based dietary pattern and the six lifestyle medicine pillars.

Bring: Your SMILE! And a large quantity of your favorite dish to share. Typically, 30 or more people want to sample your dish! Food must include simple healthy ingredients (legumes, whole grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and spices) and avoid animal foods and foods high in saturated fat or added sugar (processed foods, animal products, coconut creams or milks, heated oils). Do list your name, phone number, and share the ingredients. Printed recipes are preferred so people can take a photo and prepare it themselves if they enjoy it. Your name and phone number let people connect with you to give you a complement or ask you more about your dish.

Time: Library Room opens at 12PM for set up, potluck with start about 12:15 PM. Clean up must be completed by 2:30 PM
