🍏 It only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole bunch! 👋 Hi guys! This evening we’re stepping away from mainstream Hollywood and into a British dark comedy and satirical thriller. The film is directed by Jonatan Etzler and features Saoirse Ronan as a primary school teacher who accidentally takes a disruptive, chaotic student home and locks him in her house, leading to an escalating and absurd moral dilemma. While the film is described as containing suspense, psychological tension and a very dark premise, it is also framed as a sharp satire and black comedy rather than a traditional thriller. Sounds like fun, so let’s mix it up a little. The Meetup: We’ll begin at 5:30 pm with a meet and greet at the BFI Cafe Bar (Box Office Side). Then at 6:15 pm, we’ll make our way over to NFT2, where I’ll be seated in H7, but feel free to sit wherever suits you best. Then at around 8:15 pm, we’ll head back to the bar for drinks and get started with our film discussion, compare ideas and give the film our Letterboxd scores.
