There are actually two trails here. I figure we can do the short one first as it is right by the entrance parking and then anyone who wants to do more can join us for the second. Enter the park off Weston Road and HWY75 and turn left. There should be parking there. Looks like the trail head stars just across from the far end of the parking strip. Meet there. See event photo. This is another pay per car park.

This route is one of the best trails in the park suitable for hiking and avoids mountain-biking only trails. The trail takes visitors along the lake's edge and through a pine forest where many wildlife can be seen. The trail is mostly shaded and makes for a great hike to escape the heat in the summer.
There is a second trail we can take if we want to add a bit to the hike at the end of the first half of the lake trail.
Wear shoes that you don't mind getting wet and/or muddy. Bug spray, sunscreen and water highly recommended.
