Please note: This section is part of a TESTING PHASE and will take place at Cugini’s Pizzeria and Ristorante from 2 to 9 PM.

Cugini’s Pizzeria and Ristorante is an Italian restaurant located at 73-28 Bell Blvd. in Bayside/Oakland Gardens, Queens.

For those who drive, there is street parking along with a parking lot in the back. For those commuting by bus, the Q88, Q46, and Q48 bus lines stop nearby.

Members arrive and leave at various times, therefore there is no obligation to stay for the entire time allotted.

PROTOCOL

This venue is a place of business willing to accommodate our group. The minimum spending requirement is $25. In addition, a server will be allocated for our group, therefore, each attendee should tip appropriately.

WHAT TO EXPECT

If you're looking for a fun and friendly group of people to play a variety of games with, join us for a Sunday meetup at Cugini’s.

Newcomers are always welcome! Growing up, most of us played children's games (ex: Candyland, Sorry, Connect Four) and classic games (ex: Checkers, Chess, Scrabble, Monopoly). Gaming has truly evolved since then, with an increase in volume of games/categories created along with an increase in complexity and sophistication of rules and strategies. These "modern games" involve a whole other world that you may never heard of, however there will be others who will bring these games and teach you (see list below - you can also go to YouTube to preview and familiarize yourself).

Examples of games played

Gateway games - Rummy Cube, Splendor, Qwirkle, Century Spice Road

Card games – Five Crowns, SKYJO, Phase 10, The Game, Parade, Port Royal, The Gang

Word games - So Clover, Blank Slate, Just One, Sides, One Round, Jibber Jabble, Letter Jam

Introductory strategy games - Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne

Lighter strategy games - Stone Age, Istanbul, Concordia, Rajas of the Ganges

Heavier strategy games – Orleans, The Castles of Burgundy, Terraforming Mars

Bringing your own games is not mandatory, however if you possess any, feel free to bring them as there are always people looking to learn something new or to find a new favorite board game.

Also, please feel free to post in the Comments section regarding which games are being brought and would like to be played.

If there are any questions or issues, please either post in the Comments section or send a private message to one of the event hosts - Michael, Steve Cheng, or Steve Yu.
