Local Hike - Moreleta Kloof Nature Reserve

Sole Mates is a Cashless Hiking Club. Please make all ADMIN FEE payments via EFT prior to the hike.

Morning Hike near Pretoria

Jacobus and Cornelia Erasmus owned a dairy farm here in the early 1800s. Carel Erasmus bought the farm in the 1877 and built a three-roomed house, which is the chapel today. In 1903, his son-in-law, Johan Marneweck, built his house on the land; this has since been converted into the Rademeyer's Restaurant. Moreleta Kloof Nature Area has an abundance of bird life as well as game such as springbok, blesbok, impala and zebra.
