Our Story

Tapestry Road: A romantic journey

What happens when two lifelong musicians find each other later in life? If they're amazingly lucky, they fall in love and inspire each other to create their own special music together.

A Folk Singer with Southern roots, BRENNA LARSON began performing and playing guitar in Atlanta at age 15. A classically-trained musician, she fell in love with the songs of Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan and more. Brenna pursued a folk career for over a decade before choosing a global corporate career, raising two daughters and writing songs in her spare time.

A Motown Rock & Roller at his core, SCOTT STRAUSS also started performing in his teens. Hailing from Detroit, he thrived on rock, funk and soul music. He played bass and guitar in bands with his brother, Gary, throughout the 70s and toured with R&B artists like Carl Carlton, best known for his hits “Everlasting Love” and “She’s a Bad Mama Jama.” He, too, transitioned to a corporate career while raising a family over the following decades.

When the pair met in 2025, both were retired, unattached, and performing in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Brenna had released her first solo album, LIKE FINE WINE, a collection of folk originals, and Scott was a well-known bassist in several are tribute bands. It was only a matter of weeks before they were writing love songs with each other and marveling at their parallel life paths that brought them together.
Brenna and Scott launched Tapestry Road to share their talents and passion for bringing people together with songs and stories. They combine their skills, talents, and love of folk and rock music in a unique sound all their own.
Join them on a romantic folk-rock journey filled with timeless tunes woven with heart!
