Book Report: Journeys Out of the Body, by Robert Monroe

Next month, our Book Club takes its first dip into the consciousness side of the UFO phenomenon with a true classic: Robert Monroe's Journeys Out of the Body.

Monroe was a skeptical broadcasting executive experimenting with binaural beats to aid sleep and relaxation when strange vibrations began overtaking him, eventually culminating in a full sense of leaving his body. What followed was years of careful, first-person exploration of realms beyond the physical, documented with a precision that made this book a foundational text in consciousness studies.

It also connects to something bigger. Consciousness and the UFO phenomenon are increasingly linked, from altered states around encounters to bigger questions about the nature of non-human intelligence. Monroe's travels open up that territory. Come with your questions and your own experiences if you have them. This one's going to be a great conversation, so don't miss it.

PS: These events will always be free. We simply ask that you support the cafés hosting us by purchasing a coffee or drink, and consider adding the interesting books we explore together to your personal library.🛸📚☕️
