Sunday Pt Defiance Trolls & 6K Walk

If you are interested in going through the Pt Defiance Zoo to see the Thomas Dambo trolls, plan to park in the D parking lot by 12:45pm and walk to the zoo entrance. Pay to enter, or show your Pt Defiance Zoo Membership card. We are allowing an hour for you to tour the zoo on your own.

Return to Lot D to register for the walk at 1:45. Walk registration or donation is $3 with volkssport stamps provided for those who need them. The walk starts promptly at 2pm.

The 6K walk will be led from the D Parking Lot. If you wish to do the 11K walk, a few directions will be available. You must be able to walk for an hour or more (11K) with some hills.

We will show you how to shorten the walk if you don't want to do the entire 6k walk.

From the Zoo Lot we will walk down to the new trail that will take us to Owen's Beach. Then we walk along the promenade to the Bait and Tackle shop where the walk usually starts. We will direct you where to go back to the Zoo lot if you choose at that point.

The walk continues on to walk the Dune Peninsula Trail and returns over the Wilson Way Bridge to Pt Defiance Park and the park road up to the zoo lot.

We walk regardless of weather, so come prepared and bring water. There is no restroom in the parking lot. There is one about a half K into the 6K walk and, of course, in the zoo itself.
