A Kiss before Dying, Ira Levin: A classic 1953 psychological thriller

Plot: A charming, handsome college student is obsessed with wealth and status. He plans to marry a rich industrialist's daughter named Dorothy. When Dorothy becomes pregnant, threatening his ambitious plans, he commits to cold and calculated murder to eliminate the problem. [1, 2]
Structure: The novel is famously divided into three parts, each named after a different woman in the story, shifting perspectives and altering the narrative direction into a tense hunt. [1, 2]
Adaptations: The book was adapted into feature films twice—first in 1956 and again in 1991 starring Matt Dillon and Sean Young. [1)]
