NEW: Trails & Targets: Axe Throwing! after Relaxed East London Thames Hike

DESCRIPTION
Join us for a relaxed social hike through some of East London's most interesting green spaces, waterside paths and historic docklands, finishing with an exclusive axe-throwing session overlooking the Thames.
We'll begin outside the V&A East in Stratford before making our way through the beautiful landscapes of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, exploring the waterways, bridges and iconic venues left behind from the London 2012 Olympics.
From there, we'll continue to Victoria Park, one of London's most loved green spaces, before taking a stroll through the lively Victoria Park Market. We'll stop at a beach-style riverside bar where there's an opportunity to relax, grab a drink and enjoy the atmosphere before continuing our journey.
The route then heads south through the Docklands, passing historic canals, striking modern architecture and impressive waterfront views. We'll follow the Thames Path towards Tower Hamlets/Towhill, enjoying panoramic views across the river as we approach our final destination.

The Grand Finale: Axe Throwing!

Our hike concludes with a one-hour instructor-led axe-throwing experience.

Whether you've thrown an axe before or are giving it a go for the first time, it's a fantastic way to round off the day with plenty of laughs and a little friendly competition.
All participants receive a full safety briefing and coaching from our instructors before throwing, and an instructor will be with us throughout the session.
All participants are also required to sign a waiver before taking part which I’ll send in due course.

Cost:
£45 per person for hike and Axe Throwing.
Once you’ve RSVP’d, check the private comments section of this Meetup event for the invitation link to join the WhatsApp group. This is where we’ll share updates, and answer questions (particularly if I’m temporarily unavailable). I’ll share my live location on the day, return train times, and group photos after the event.

HIKE INCLUDES

Guided Hike planned and led by experienced AAA leader who is Lowland leader qualified, Wilderness First Aid qualified, Summer Mountain Leader trained.

Suitable hiking shoes or boots

Water - 2 litres a day
Waterproof jacket and trousers (Please no jeans!)
Warm windproof layer e.g. Down/Primaloft/Fleece
Wicking base layer e.g. Polyester/Tencel/Merino
Fancy Dress if you like.

Important Booking information:
Axe throwing requires us to secure and pay for a group booking in advance. If insufficient places have been booked by the RSVP closing date, I may need to postpone the event to a later date to avoid incurring the full cost. In this situation, all attendees will be offered a place on the rescheduled event and, if you are unable to attend the new date, a full refund will be provided.

CANCELLING/REFUNDS
If you can no longer join the event, please message the host and update your RSVP status on MeetUp to 'Not going', to allow others to take your place. If the event sells out, and you have messaged us and have changed your RSVP to 'Not going', please email us on [email protected] after the event date, requesting a refund, including your PayPal email address, so we can locate the payment. Unfortunately, as PayPal retains the original transaction fee, we cannot refund this. If the hike is not full, we are sorry, we are unable to issue a refund.
