Edinburgh Swing into the Contra Dance Circle

If you have been curious about folk dancing or just want to get out and move your feet, come join us for an evening of contra dancing in Edinburgh. This event is designed to be welcoming for everyone, whether you have been dancing for years or have never stepped onto a dance floor before. We will start with a walkthrough of the basics, so you do not need to bring a partner or have any prior experience to enjoy the night.

The evening is really all about community and good music. Contra dancing is social by nature, and it is a great way to meet new people while keeping active. Wear something comfortable that you can move in easily and bring a pair of flat, soft-soled shoes if you have them. We hope to see a mix of familiar faces and new members filling out the circles. If you think you might be able to make it, please click the RSVP button so we can get a sense of numbers for the hall.
