I picked a night to do this hike for the Waxing Crescent Moon that we will have
Sunset is 4:43
Moonrise is at 12:30
Moonset is 11pm
so we should get a good view of the moon during our hike
meet at 6:30, hiking by 6:45
Will cancel for rain/drizzle - will still go if cloudy and hope it peeks out
About 5 miles - through the dark woods - with rocks, roots, tree branches and leaves
make sure you're ok with that
red lights are ok, white lights are not
Remember my 3 rules of night hikes:
1 - if you can't see the person in front of you, walk faster (it helps to keep someone from getting lost, keeps us moving and if the person in front of you trips or falls, you can avoid doing what they did)
2 - don't shine your light in anyone's eyes
3 - it's not rude to pass someone that isn't keeping up - let them get lost, don't let yourself get lost
We'll go to Graham's Pub afterwards for food and/or drinks
