Join the Dive Club for a private two-tank boat charter: the Tenneco Towers wreck, then a drift dive on the reef off Haulover. Spearfishing, lobstering and lionfish hunting are all allowed.

Dive 1: Tenneco Towers Oil platforms from the Gulf of Mexico, sunk in 1985 as part of Broward County's artificial reef program. You descend the mooring line to the top deck at around 60 ft, with the sand at the base around 110 ft. Expect barracuda, amberjack, groupers, and a lot of lionfish. It's one of my favorite dives in Florida. The one time I dove it, I caught 6 lionfish.

Dive 2: Drift Dive Reef A drift along the reef off Haulover, 40 to 100 ft depending on which way we head. The boat drops you up-current and follows your float. Plenty of lobster and lionfish.

Details • Check-in: 12:15 PM at Haulover Marina (free parking) • Private boat, only our group on board: 19 divers plus me, Austin • Dive guides on board if you'd like one • Drinks and snacks on board • Advanced Open Water recommended, plus a logged dive in the last 6 months • Everyone signs the charter's liability waiver • Heads up: no restroom on board

Price • $150 per diver • $260 if you bring a friend ($130 each) • Tanks and rental gear are not included. Rent them from the charter, and Dive Club members get 20% off.

Booking RSVPing here does not hold a seat. Seats are booked and paid on the trip page: https://divemasteraustin.com/tenneco-towers

7 of 20 seats are already booked.

Hunting Bring your spear, lobster gauge, catch bag, and your Florida fishing license and lobster permit (a photo or digital copy is fine). Follow Florida FWC rules for sizes and bag limits.

Refunds If weather or conditions cancel the trip, everyone gets a full refund. Otherwise there are no refunds, since the boat is paid up front, but you can sell your seat to another qualified diver.

By joining, you agree to be filmed and photographed for Dive Club and Divemaster Austin content.
